Eldorado Gold / Hellas Gold, 4th Epiroc U6 Underground Rig, Greece

Geotest announces the arrival of a brand-new Epiroc Diamec U6 underground diamond drilling rig (#4), reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable and high-quality drilling services. The new rig is deployed to support Hellas Gold, a subsidiary of Eldorado Gold, as part of the Stratoni Skarn Diamond Drilling Programme.

Project Challenge

Mobilising and commissioning a new underground rig without disrupting an already large, multi-rig underground operation.

• Integrating a fourth U6 rig into the underground fleet safely and efficiently
• Coordinating crews and logistics across Hellas Gold’s Chalkidiki mining operations

• Maintaining Geotest’s safety and quality standards during ramp-up
• Supporting continuous underground exploration at Stratoni Skarn

Geotest now operates 11 drilling rigs simultaneously across Hellas Gold’s Chalkidiki operations.
