Eldorado Gold, Perama Hill Geotechnical Drilling, Greece
Project Description
Geotest carried out a surface diamond drilling programme across the wider Perama Hill area, assessing geotechnical conditions and slope stability at the Perama Hill Gold Mine under the supervision of the Thrace Geotechnical Department (Eldorado Gold / Hellas Gold).
Project Challenge
The programme required careful sequencing of access works and environmentally sensitive site operations across varied terrain and drilling angles.
Six boreholes for a total of approximately 1,800 metres, with depths ranging from 50 to 300 metres
Inclinations ranging from vertical (90°) to moderately inclined, up to 45° from horizontal
Earthmoving works to prepare and later rehabilitate access routes and drill pad locations
Water truck support for drilling platforms and vacuum truck management of drilling residues
RESULTS
Geotechnical data delivered to support slope stability assessment across the Perama Hill area.
