PPC, Geotechnical drilling, Greece

Project Description

For the purpose of stability monitoring in the southern and northearn edge of the PPC Kardia mine, a number of boreholes with both coring and destructive drilling are planned.

The aim is to identify possible unstable areas under the final pit slopes and in areas of future construction sites. Monitoring includes drilling for inclinometer and regular measurements therein and also installation of vibrating wire piezometers.

Underground water table identification and seasonal variations would provide quality data for the understanding slope stability and rock competence.

Project Challenge

Demanding project that requires high-quality drilling and state-of-the-art borehole monitoring instrumentation for stability and underground water.

  • Vibrating wire piezometer
  • Excellent core recovery
  • Increased daily performance
  • Inclinometer monitoring

RESULTS

Pending.
